Meatholgy

Yesterday, I was invited by a friend to BBQ. So it was just me, him and his gf. On the way there, I keep asking him, am I too bright for you guys? Honestly I really never been to a 3 ppl only BBQ. And it was random.

So they prepared this mongolian lamb spit (烤羊肉串) which they told me they've prepared it for a night. Actually lamb is never my culture and i refer it as a n exotic food, which i will put it on the last 100 food i will consume if I'm lost in an island with no other food and I'm waiting for rescue team. Sometimes it's just hard to be yourself. When those people with positive images ask you to be yourself, how are they suppose to understand this when they are not doing it?

I'm facing this dilemma of telling him that i don't eat lamb, but sometimes it's hard because you have a lame reason. Doesn't taste good? Don't like 羊臊味? Unlike beef because it's against my religion and I can backed it up with strong reasons. So i just keep it down.

Well, there are no other alternative except fresh oysters, which even out of the last 100 food list cos first i'm allergic to seafood, second i will never eat raw food. So i helped to put the things together and start BBQ. Turnout the lamb is acceptable, not too bad and we had a great day.

I learnt alot based on past experience dealing with people. I remembered my first meal in Sydney which prepared by my friend was lamb sausage and rice. I still remember how i showed my disgust against it. And they never prepare any lamb, beef or seafood dishes with me again. I'm very lucky because they change their diet because of my arrogant (couldn't find a better word, which later on referred as childish) behaviour.

We have our own culture, so do other people.

Learning all these is far more valuable than what i'm learnt in universities.

Thus, I beg for forgiveness.

In this global world, multiracial country, we have change our behaviour to be ourselves. (What a way to end the blog.)
